Current Work
I am a Research Fellow at Northumbria University working on the Double Dividend of Safety Project, raising awareness of the impact of safety conditions on health behaviours and modelling the potential benefits of safety interventions. My doctoral studies investigated the relationships between perceptions of risk and health behaviours. I worked as a researcher for the Psychology and Communication Technology Lab at Northumbria exploring a range of public health issues using both quantitative and qualitative methods. I have held fellowships with the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology and the Alan Turing Institute. Finally, I am a non-practising solicitor, and writer for Psychology Today. Background After studying philosophy at the University of Warwick, I worked as a corporate solicitor in the North East of England. I then enjoyed several years as an English teacher in Hue, Vietnam and Aranda de Duero, Spain before returning to the UK to pursue a career in health research. |
